The start to the 2025-26 Stanley Cup Playoffs can only be described as electric with the number of clutch goals and explosive plays on display.
Juraj Slafkovsky wires a rocket by Andrei Vasilevskiy to win Game 1 for the Canadiens and complete the hat trick. The Buffalo Sabres, led by Tage Thompson’s slick tying tally, battled back with clutch shots to win Game 1 after a 15-year Stanley Cup Playoff drought. Leo Carlsson makes a great move to his backhand on the rush and beats Tristan Jarry with a beauty.
From Brock Faber’s pretty play inside the slot, rookie Porter Martone’s top-shelf snipe against the Penguins, and a number of overtime goals — ranging from JJ Moser’s Game 2 winner to Wyatt Johnston’s impressive tip-in tally in double overtime in Game 3 — the first week of the Stanley Cup Playoffs delivered thrills and incredible action on the ice.
